The regional perspectives summarised in the following sections provide a pen-picture of the physical environment and major human activities taking place with in each region, together with a commentary about some of the main improvements and problems. The illustrative maps and associated text have been drawn from the previous chapters to provide an overall impression of how well we are moving towards the vision of clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas.
